Consultations are available with Industry Development Centre (Hunter) Ltd (IDC) Commercialisation Managers in Sydney and
Newcastle on a regular basis - as part of the IDC's Innovation Express program. Innovation Express is a
unique service, which offers innovators access to customised advice on specific, commercial aspects
of their innovation.
Typically, consultations focus on identifying key areas of development and also highlight any
potential barriers to success. The consultation allows innovators to gain an independent opinion on
the potential commercial viability of their innovation.
The consultation runs for one hour and will be conducted by IDC Commercialisation Manager, Troy White who has
broad experience presenting innovations to industry and can utilise these capabilities to help evaluate and discuss
the business opportunity your idea presents.
Consultations may include but are not limited to:
Commercialisation Strategy;
Preliminary Assessment;
Preparing for a Licence Negotiation;
Product Presentations;
Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy;
Product Development;
Creative Brain Storming; and
Product Naming.
The consultation is designed to provide the innovator with a unique insight into the potential
commercial viability of their innovation and identify possible barriers to success. As a result of
the consultation, innovators are able to make more informed decisions about their individual
situation and assess a variety of factors relevant to the commercial viability of their product.
